The Adventurers Tools

Controls, system requirements, party planning, and the real 1.0 mod surfaces.

Tools Hub

The Tools hub is the reference shelf for The Adventurers 1.0 — not a second copy of the guides. Use it when you need a setting, a Steam spec, a stat formula, or an honest list of what the August 2026 mod beta actually exposes.

The game is a single-player Windows Steam title (app 3062500) with a Steam Deck Playable badge. Keyboard and mouse are the primary interface. Hex combat is click-targeted. The overworld is walk versus run. Camp and town screens eat the same day clock that wages do. None of that needs a fake overlay “planner app.” The pages below are checklists you can keep open on a second monitor.

Controls

The controls page covers how the interface is actually laid out:

  • Mouse-driven hex targeting and movement.
  • Overworld walking (safe) versus running (supplies and night fights).
  • Camp and town UI: rest, cook, repair, tavern sleep, blacksmith orders.
  • Settings: customizable hotkeys (added after community request; developer confirmed in 2025).
  • Travel-map stop-movement and center keys added in 9.7.3, listed under Settings — this wiki does not invent the rest of a full keybind table.

Steam Deck users should start there too. Valve marked the build Playable; Proton is why a Deck can run a Windows-only OpenGL game. There is no official Linux or macOS client.

System requirements

The system requirements page quotes the Steam store, not a recap site.

Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, x86_64 with SSE2, 16 GB RAM, integrated GPU with OpenGL 3.3, 800 MB storage.

Recommended: SSE4.2 with 4+ physical cores, dedicated OpenGL 4.6, same 800 MB.

It is a 2D pixel tactical RPG with an 800 MB footprint and a 16 GB RAM line. Quote the store; do not invent a reason. It is not DirectX, not 8 GB RAM, and not 4 GB of disk.

Party planner

The party planner is a role and formula sheet:

  • Front: Warrior, Paladin.
  • Pierce: Archer, Thief.
  • Magic: Wizard, Warlock, Druid.
  • Heal: Cleric, Paladin, Druid.

Official Adventurer Guide math: Strength for bash/slash, Agility for pierce plus block/parry, Resolve for energy and magic, Vitality for health and energy recovery, Charisma for shops and speech (highest member), Luck for crits and search events. General abilities worth planning around: Scout, Gifted, Merchant, Born Leader. Personalities clash on camp chores. Wages must lose to contract income.

Pair it with the tier list and party comps when you are choosing Custom versus New Band.

Modding

The modding page is a scope document, not an API tutorial.

  • 9 August 2026 beta (9.9.0): classes, creatures, and items exposed.
  • 1.0.0.0 (31 August 2026): Abilities, Combat Actions, Fort Buildings, Fort Requests, Quests, Towns.
  • Icon override via a relative path icons/filename.png (developer comment).
  • World of Shion continues; more surfaces if demand exists.

If you only wanted cheat tables, you are in the wrong hub. If you want to add a town request or a custom class JSON, start there and stay on the beta branch until you understand live versus beta.

How to use this hub in a campaign

  1. Before purchase, read system requirements and confirm 16 GB RAM plus OpenGL 3.3.
  2. After the first Prycoast contract, open controls and bind travel stop/center in Settings.
  3. Before hiring a fourth wage, run the party planner against Daily Cost.
  4. After 1.0, if you want user content, read modding and the Steam news post from 9 August 2026.

Guides still own the verbs: getting started, combat, equipment. Tools own the numbers and the buttons.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about The Adventurers tactical RPG.

Is there an in-game party planner tool?

No overlay app ships with The Adventurers. The party planner on this wiki is a role and formula checklist using the official Adventurer Guide.

Where are the extra travel hotkeys?

Version 9.7.3 added travel-map stop-movement and center keys in Settings. Open Settings rather than hunting a wiki table of unverified binds.

What are the real Steam specs?

Windows 10, 16 GB RAM, OpenGL 3.3 (min) or 4.6 dedicated (rec), 800 MB storage. Steam Deck Playable. No official Mac or Linux.

Can I mod The Adventurers in 1.0?

Yes, with limits. Beta 9.9.0 exposed classes, creatures, and items. 1.0 added abilities, combat actions, fort buildings and requests, quests, and towns. See modding.

Do these tools replace the class guides?

No. Use characters and the tier list for kits. This hub is controls, specs, planning math, and mod scope.
