The Adventurers Development Roadmap

The 2024 Early Access pitch, what actually shipped by 1.0, and Shion after launch.

Development Roadmap

When The Adventurers entered Early Access on 11 November 2024, Eternal Vigilance Entertainment published a short, numeric pitch on the Steam page. The full version, they wrote, would add five additional classes, 500+ additional random events, 200+ additional quests, 400+ additional items, and extra stores. They expected Early Access to last “approximately 6 months to a year, assuming everything goes smoothly.” It lasted until 31 August 2026.

This page compares that pitch to what actually shipped. It does not say Paladin, Druid, or Warlock “launched in 1.0.” Those three were Early Access classes. 1.0 is the stamp that ended the branch, buffed Resolve magic, nerfed Agility block/parry, opened more mod files, and filled quest endings.

Original Early Access pitch

Steam’s “How is the full version planned to differ?” answer:

  • 5 additional classes (on top of the EA three: Warrior, Archer, Thief).
  • 500+ additional random events.
  • 200+ additional quests.
  • 400+ additional items.
  • Additional stores.
  • A forum roadmap with five milestones, explicitly allowed to change with community input.

EA launch content, from the same page: three character classes and a complete level-up system, plus the already-playable hex combat, overworld, and company loop. A public roadmap image circulated in November 2024 (periodical updates, then a 1.0 update, then a later list). Exact milestone dates were not promised.

What actually shipped by 1.0

Classes — the +5 did land, during EA. Wizard and Cleric arrived in the Update 1 / Update 2 window (Cleric with the death mechanic and weapon swapping). Paladin hit beta in March 2025 and live in April 2025. Druid and Warlock shipped in 8.4.5. By January 2026 the developer could list all eight on the forum. 1.0 did not add a ninth class.

Events, quests, items. The studio never published a live counter that this wiki can quote as “512 events.” Update 1 explicitly added quests and events “to hit the quota mentioned,” including search/discovery jobs and prerequisite chains. Later patches kept adding items (and then 500+ icon replacements in July 2026). Treat the 500 / 200 / 400 figures as targets the project aimed at, not as a 1.0 loading-screen statistic unless the developer posts a census.

Stores and towns. Blacksmith, enchanter, tavern, general goods, barbershop, apothecary/potions, fort stores, and Town Hall contracts all exist in 1.0. Blacksmith timing was rebuilt in 9.7.2 (instant rush for +5 gold; 2-hour weapons/armor, 1-hour smelt otherwise).

Systems the 2024 blurb did not name but shipped: fog of war (9.7.4), unstable platforms (9.7.3), named world crises through 9.5.x, fort unit training and requests, personalities, Scout and the rest of the general ability list, summons that spend caster energy, Steam Deck Playable, 16 achievements, Steam Cloud.

Modding was not in the original five-bullet pitch. It arrived 9 August 2026 (classes, creatures, items on beta) and widened on 1.0.0.0 (abilities, combat actions, fort buildings, fort requests, quests, towns). See modding.

1.0 as a finish line, not a class drop

The 1.0 Steam post is a thank-you that points at the patch-notes thread. The notes themselves are forts (combat fix, stats page, faster/richer requests), quest ending text on all quests, Agility block −25% and parry −33%, Resolve magic +25%, UI/tooltip cleanup, enemy animation and stat tweaks, ally relationship bonuses visible in combat, demo Early Access tag removed, and the extra mod surfaces.

If you held a mental model of “1.0 = Paladin + Druid + Warlock,” throw it out. Those kits were already in the January 2026 roster list. 1.0 is balance, forts, quest text, and tools for people who want to extend Shion.

Post-1.0: Shion continues

Public language after launch: the World of Shion is still the setting, the developer is still writing guides (the Adventurer Guide is already live), and more mod surfaces can open if demand exists. There is no dated “Update 2 of 1.0” calendar on this wiki. There is also no announcement of official Mac/Linux.

Practical expectations:

  • Play the eight-class 1.0 campaign first.
  • Watch Steam news for app 3062500, not coupon sites (codes hub).
  • If you author data mods, assume new surfaces are opt-in and documented in patch notes, not in rumors.
  • Crises and forts will keep being the late-game pressure; that content already has names from the 9.5.x season.

How this wiki tracks the map

The updates hub is the timeline. Patch notes is the recent diff. System requirements quotes the OpenGL / 16 GB table that shipped with the 1.0 store page. When a future news post adds a class or a platform, those pages change. Until then, the pitch’s +5 classes are done, the numeric event/quest/item goals were aimed at during EA, and Shion is not frozen.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about The Adventurers tactical RPG.

What did the Early Access pitch promise?

Five more classes, 500+ events, 200+ quests, 400+ items, and extra stores, on top of the original Warrior, Archer, and Thief.

Did those five classes ship in 1.0?

They shipped during Early Access: Wizard, Cleric, Paladin, Druid, and Warlock. 1.0 did not debut them. The January 2026 developer list already had all eight.

When did Early Access end?

31 August 2026 with version 1.0.0.0. The original estimate was six months to a year; the branch ran longer.

Is the game done after 1.0?

The 1.0 stamp ended Early Access. The developer is still working on the World of Shion and has left the door open for more mod surfaces if demand exists.

Where is the official milestone list?

Steam forums and news. This page summarizes; it does not replace the pinned patch notes archive.

Were 500 events and 200 quests counted at 1.0?

The studio did not publish a census this wiki can quote. Update 1 said it was adding content to hit the stated quota. Treat the numbers as pitch targets unless a later post tallies them.
