Warrior Class Guide

Warrior is the beginner-friendly tank and striker in The Adventurers. You stand on the first rank of hexes, spend Strength on slash and bash weapons, and use a kit that is almost entirely self-explanatory: swing wide, pull attention, hit twice, bleed, then survive the return fire. It is not the default 1.0 start — that is Paladin, Wizard, and Cleric — but it is the melee seat of the classic trio with Archer and Thief. Custom creation can pick Warrior from day one.

Energy still comes from Resolve at ten points per Resolve, so a pure Strength brick will run dry if you spam Frenzy. Health comes from Vitality at ten points per Vitality. Build Strength first, Vitality second, and enough Resolve that Come At Me plus Double Attack do not empty the bar before the second wave. For hex rules, read combat. For where Warrior sits in a full roster, read the tier list and party comps.

Role and primary stats

Role: frontline tank and striker. You occupy the hexes enemies want to walk through. Come At Me forces a foe to target you. Wide Swing covers an arc instead of a single nose-to-nose tile. Protection and Reckless are the two postures: thirty percent less damage taken and dealt, or thirty percent more damage dealt and taken. Leader is the party version, boosting other members’ damage by twenty percent while you stay in the scrum.

Primary stat: Strength for slash and bash. Secondary: Vitality for the health pool that makes Come At Me a plan instead of a suicide. Tertiary: Resolve for energy, and a little Agility if you want block and parry to actually fire. Luck is a crit spice, not a Warrior identity. Charisma does not swing a mace.

Signature abilities by level

Default — Wide Swing (Action). Attacks in a wide arc in front of the user. This is the reason Warrior is comfortable on a choke hex: you do not need a perfect one-tile face-off to contribute.

Level 2. Come At Me (Bonus) forces an enemy to target you. Double Attack (Action) performs two basic attacks at a target. Wound (Action) wounds the target and applies a bleeding effect. Early Warrior play is: pull, double tap, bleed, repeat.

Level 4. Protection (Bonus) reduces damage taken by 30% and damage done by 30%. Reckless (Bonus) increases damage done by 30% but increases damage taken by 30%. Leader (Bonus) boosts other party members’ damage by 20%. Pick Protection when the front rank is the only thing keeping Cleric alive. Pick Reckless when the fight needs to end. Pick Leader when your Archer and Thief are the real damage and you are the wall.

Level 6. Save Them (Bonus) gives adjacent allies a 20% dodge bonus. Slam (Action) creates a stun effect on the target. Second Wind (Bonus) restores 50% of energy and health, usable once. Slam is your interrupt. Second Wind is the once-per-fight panic valve. Save Them is why standing next to the Paladin or Cleric is not wasted adjacency.

Level 8. Shake It Off (Bonus) removes all debilitating effects, usable once. Aim For The Knee (Action) stops the target’s movement. Too Quick (Bonus) reduces incoming damage based on remaining energy. Too Quick rewards the Warrior who did not dump the whole bar on Frenzy. Aim For The Knee pins a runner so Archer and Wizard can finish the job.

Level 10. Frenzy (Action) is a massive swing that uses up a lot of energy. Roar (Bonus) shouts at enemies around you, reducing their damage by 20%. Unstoppable (Passive) means enemies do not get any gang-up bonus for damage. Frenzy is a closer, not a basic attack. Roar is the group mitigation button. Unstoppable is why Warrior can stand in a pile without the flanking math that punishes Thief.

Positioning

Stand on the first rank, preferably on a choke or a hex that covers two approach lanes with Wide Swing. Do not chase into the enemy backline unless Come At Me already failed and someone is about to delete your Wizard. Adjacent allies get Save Them. Isolated Warrior still works because Unstoppable denies gang-up, but isolated Warrior cannot share Leader or Save Them. Keep one hex of retreat so Second Wind is not spent while surrounded with no path out.

Party fit

Warrior plus Cleric is the simplest durable core in the game: you soak, they Mend Wounds and Holy Protection. Warrior plus Archer is the classic ranged-and-wall pair. Warrior plus Thief works if Thief actually flanks instead of standing in your arc. Paladin can share the front rank; two frontliners is a valid 1.0 lineup, just do not stack both on Reckless. Wizard wants you to hold the line so Fireball and Chain Lightning have clustered targets. Druid and Warlock summons can occupy side hexes while you hold the door.

Warrior is honest about its ceiling. It is the easiest class to play well and it stays useful through 1.0. It is not a healer. It is not pierce. It is not a summoner. If your party already has Paladin and you still want a second body in steel, Warrior is the cleaner striker of the two.

General ability suggestions

From the shared list (levels 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10): Tough S.O.B for 25% more max health. Hard To Kill to double bleed-out time. Still In This for a once-per-combat killing-blow survival. Shield Mastery if you block. Two Hands Better Than One for 20% more damage on two-handed weapons. Armor Proficiency to cut the energy penalty of heavy kit by 25%. Berserker if you live under 50% health on Reckless. Weapon Mastery Sword, Axe, or Mace to match the weapon you actually swing. Quick Breaths if Frenzy is emptying the bar. Skip Herbalist and Merchant unless this Warrior is also your camp mule.

The Characters Hub lists every class. If you are building around this seat instead of the default Paladin start, park Archer behind you and decide whether the fourth body is Cleric (safest) or Thief (greediest).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about The Adventurers tactical RPG.

Is Warrior good for beginners?

Yes. Warrior is the most beginner-friendly tank and striker. Wide Swing, Come At Me, and Double Attack are readable, and you do not manage a summon energy tax.

What stats does Warrior use?

Strength for slash and bash damage, Vitality for health (10 per point), and enough Resolve for energy (10 per point) so Frenzy and Double Attack do not empty the bar.

Is Warrior part of the default start?

No. The default start is Paladin, Wizard, and Cleric. Warrior is the classic-trio frontliner with Archer and Thief. Custom creation can pick Warrior immediately.

Protection or Reckless?

Protection cuts damage taken and dealt by 30%. Reckless raises both by 30%. Use Protection when you must hold, Reckless when the fight needs to end, Leader when allies are the damage.

What general abilities pair with Warrior?

Tough S.O.B, Hard To Kill, Shield Mastery or Two Hands Better Than One, Armor Proficiency, and Weapon Mastery for Sword, Axe, or Mace.

Where does Warrior stand in a party?

Front rank, on a choke hex if you can get one. Pair with Cleric or Paladin for sustain, Archer for pierce, and keep Wizard off the first row. See party comps.
